This course INCLUDES the 2025 HeartCode BLS Online Part 1 ($36.00 value), a hands-on skill session, and a BLS Provider eCard.

Upon registration, you will receive an assignment for a HeartCode BLS Complete course, which should be completed online.  Registrations received after 5 pm will be assigned the following business day.  The new 2025 HeartCode BLS course is designed to be adaptive to the learner's knowledge and experience, and can be completed in 1-2 hours.  Upon completion, practice and test your skills with an American Heart Association-developed state-of-the-art Voice Assisted Manikin (VAM) that will guide you through high-quality CPR and AED skills.  During skills testing, an instructor will not be present since the manikin & computer will guide you through the BLS skills.  Your eCard will be issued immediately upon completion.  

The certification issued with be the SAME as if you attended a live in-person class with us!  This is a new American Heart Association program to ensure quality CPR training can be done frequently and conveniently.  

Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy  There are no refunds after your purchase. However, you can reschedule your skills session by paying the $25 rescheduling fee for each reschedule. Or, you can pay the $10 Reschedule Insurance and reschedule as many times as needed.

Precourse Requirement:  Before taking the ACLS course, you must pass the online ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment with a score of 70% or higher. This test is available through the American Heart Association eLearning site - https://elearning.heart.org/courses/24

In order to be prepared for this one-day ACLS course, students are encouraged to also complete the PreCourse Work training along with the Self-Assessment - https://elearning.heart.org/course/424/  This includes video lessons that cover multiple medical subjects and include engaging questions, enabling you to be better prepared to participate in the ACLS Provider class and achieve a successful outcome.

Course Format and Exam During the classroom portion, skills are taught in large-group sessions and small-group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. For the exams, students must be able to demonstrate skills competency in all learning stations and pass the high-quality BLS skills test, the bag-mask ventilation with OPA/NPA insertion skills test, the Megacode test and finally, pass the ACLS exam with a score of 84% or higher.

OPTIONAL BLS Skills Add-On Students have the option to add on an accelerated BLS Skills Session.  Please note you must complete HeartCode BLS Online.

Certification Card Students will receive their certification within 24 hours of their scheduled course, from ecards@heart.org.

Who Should Take This Course?   Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Online is for students who prefer to complete the program at their own pace at work, home, or wherever Internet access is available. This course is designed for workers in the commercial market who must receive training per OSHA standard 1910.1030 and also for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as: correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, maintenance workers, school personnel, hotel housekeepers, health and fitness club staff, tattoo artists

Required Student Materials There are no additional materials required. 

Course Format and Exam  (1 hour)  Complete the online program at your own pace at work, home, or wherever Internet access is available. There is no skills test or demonstration required for completion of this course. There is an optional written exam if the employer requires an exam for completion.

Course Completion Card  (Valid for 1 year) Students can access downloadable Participation Certificate upon course completion.  

Required: Students must be enrolled in an ACLS/PALS Class, Update or Skills Session to qualify.

Required:  Students must purchase and complete BLS HeartCode. Link provided upon registration.

Certification Cards arrive via email, no later than 48 hours of your scheduled course.

AHA BLS INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIALS COURSE 
 
Required Student Materials  Prior to taking this course, you must have a current BLS Provider card.  
Citywide CPR provides each student with the following:
  • Instructor Candidate Application
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Essentials Online Course Item: 15-1420
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Manual Item: 20-1103

Course Format and Exam  Part 1 – Complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online course: approximately 1.50 hours. Candidates who successfully complete the course receive access to a printable certificate granting them entrance to the hands-on, faculty-led session.  Part 2 – Complete the in-person Classroom Course with our BLS Training Center Faculty.  This includes hands on evaluation of skills, general knowledge, administration, rules and requirements.  This requirement must be completed within 90 Calendar days from date of completion of Online Essentials course.  Part 3 – Successfully be monitored teaching a course within 6 months of completing the In Person Classroom portion of the Instructor Essentials Course.  Training Center Coordinators may require additional monitoring, if needed.
